Built in rough and dressed stone in 1840, listed in 1989, the buildings which make up La Forge were originally a foundry which, up until 1890, produced cast iron, iron and steel using the rich metal-bearing deposits from the hillside of Notre-Dame des Anges.
Restored between 1990 and 1994, the whole complex is located on a single plot of 6000m2 of land, including over 1000m2 of enclosed garden. The buildings include :
- a two-storey house where the ground floor with its south-facing windows (a dining area of some 70m2, with a big log fire in the open fireplace in winter) is open to our guests. The south-facing bedroom "Soleil" opening onto the garden.
- a swimming pool with a spacious paved sundeck, again south-facing, a shady trellis along the side of the sundeck,
- a large barbecue and outside kitchen, available to guests ;
- a hall, redesigned to include east-facing bedrooms ("Restanque, "Terre", "Ciel" and the "Mer" suite) opening onto the garden ;
- a private shadowy parking.
We're sure you'll fall under the spell of the site with its natural beauty and the buildings standing on the edge of the Provençal forest near the beginning of many hiking trails.Breakfast is served by the poolside or in the dining room, depending on the season.
