La Forge is located within the Luberon Reserve and, even more so, within the Provençal Colorado (listed as a Heritage Site), on the edge of the Provençal forest where, because of the outstanding interest of the local flora and fauna, building is completely prohibited.
Two kilometers from the village of Rustrel and just 150 yards from the start of the many hiking trails (short and long trails covering the ochre quarries, the 'fairy chimneys' and a Romanesque chapel).
